LOMAX STONE CARVING

About

I originally trained as a banker mason, learning to make general architectural masonry. I spent several years in a commercial banker shop honing skills over hand, power and air tools, supplying worked stone for projects all over the UK.

After this I moved out onto site in both heritage and commercial settings, gaining more knowledge over materials and techniques, but also context to the final setting of the stones I worked.

It is with carving that my true passion lies, combining both my long standing interests in art and history. A QEST Scholarship allowed me to pursue this path, enabling me to study and obtain a degree in Architectural Stone Carving at City & Guilds of London Art School. This, along with formerly gained experience allows me to create a wide range of general masonry, architectural stone carvings, or more bespoke sculptures and lettering works.
